Chicken pizza pockets (without yeast)

Serves – 4 persons

Ingredients

For base
Maida – 2 cups
Wheat flour – 1 cup
Baking soda – 1 teaspoon
Baking powder – 1 tablespoon
Curd – 2 tablespoon
Water/milk – as required

For Sauce
Onion (chopped) – 1 medium
Tomato – 3 no.
Garlic – 6/7 cloves
Butter – 2 tablespoon
Salt n pepper – as required
Tomato ketchup – 3 tablespoon
Soy sauce – 1 teaspoon
Oregano – 1 tablespoon

For filling
Chicken – 250 grams
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tablespoon
Salt pepper – as required
Onion (diced) – 1 big
Capsicum (diced) – 1 no.
Cheese – as required

Method
– Mix all the dry ingredients thoroughly. Then add all the wet ingredients and knead well for about 7 – 10 mins. Once done cover it and keep it aside to rest.
– For sauce, take a saucepan add butter, let ie melt. Then add onions and sautee for 5 mins.
– Puree the tomatoes and garlic together and add to the onion. Add soy sauce, salt, and pepper and cook for 5 mins. Then add ketchup and oregano and cook for another 5 mins. Your sauce is ready.
– Marinate the chicken with ginger garlic paste, salt and pepper for atleast 30 mins. After the cut in small cubes and shallow fry it. Remove it and keep aside for later.
– Now take the dough cut into portions and roll out. Apply sauce put the cooked chicken, cheese, diced onions, and diced capsicum and fold and seal it well.
– Deep fry the the pockets. Voilà your chicken pizza pocket is ready!

A day off? A social gathering? A cheat day? A bad day? One answer to these questions – BROWNIES! Brownies have grown to be every individual’s favorite or a go to dessert. Chocolates are definitely the first thing that pops in our mind when it comes to making up with someone. But have you ever thought of making some brownies shows more affection and emotions, because it involves your skills, your time, your patience and most importantly your thought. It is more of an emotion rather that a dessert!

The birth of brownies took place in Chicago, in the year 1893. It 3 Hotel, requested the Pastry Chef to create a dessert which was cake-like but smaller and something that would fit in the lunchboxes, for the ladies who were attending a Exposition. The result was the Palmer House Brownie with walnuts and an apricot glaze. That’s how brownies came into existence. Till date the hotel uses the same recipe to serve this dessert to its patrons.

It was only after 1896 brownie got its name. It first appeared in the book called “Boston Cooking-School Cook book” by Fannie Farmer, in reference to molasses baked cake.

A chocolate brownie, is a square, baked chocolate dessert. It is available in wide variations, i.e., fudgy or cakey depending on its density. Many like it with nuts, cream, frosting, cream cheese, chocolate chips etc. There is a vanilla variation of it too. It is called as a “Blondie”. It made by using flour, brown sugar, butter, eggs, baking powder and vanilla. walnuts or pecans are also added according to preference. They also contain white or dark chocolate chips, butterscotch chips or other flavored chips.

Here is your way to an amazing cheat day brownie

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease an 8×8 inch square pan.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, butter and water. Cook over medium heat until boiling. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips until melted and smooth. Mix in the eggs and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; stir into the chocolate mixture. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until brownies set up. Do not overbake! Cool in pan and cut into squares.
  • Serve along with a cup of milk, or a scoop of ice cream, or whipped cream!  But don’t forget to share it with your friends and family.
